About Us

Clinical training is conducted at 54 units of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, including 33 general hospitals, outpatient departments, 21 polyclinics, maternity hospitals, and dental polyclinics, with a total of around 9,000 beds. The primary clinical training hub is the Republican Clinical Hospital, along with the Hospital of Emergency Care, City Hospital No. 18, and the Interregional Clinical Diagnostic Center.

KSMU's dental polyclinic houses 98 dental chairs, and the university uses Republican and city centers of public healthcare for training students of the prophylactic medicine faculty. The pharmaceutical faculty trains students in 65 pharmacies within the Republic of Tatarstan, 18 pharmacies in Chuvashia, and several commercial pharmaceutical units.

Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) is at the forefront of Russia's leading scientific schools and research studies. According to an independent rating by the administrative agency "RateOR," among all Russian universities' scientific achievements, only three Kazan universities rank in the top fifty, with KSMU holding the second position after Kazan State University. Among Russia's top medical universities, KSMU ranks third, following the Moscow Medical Academy named after I.M. Sechenov and the Russian State Medical University.

The university conducts training for highly qualified specialists in 40 PhD specialties and 5 doctoral specialties. KSMU has two doctoral Academic Councils in 7 specialties and plans to establish a third Council in 2 additional specialties.

Student Life at Kazan State Medical University

During holidays, students have the opportunity to unwind at the "Medic" camp, nestled in a forested area along the banks of the Volga River.
